Creative and inspirational teachers motivate their students to learn by using their personal qualities, their positive experiences and their excellent communication skills. They know that Knowledge is one of our main purposes in life. The qualities of a good teacher are can also be improved by some courses conducted as Teacher Training courses - Breaking Down the Barriers to Learning. A Good teacher should try to become a role model of student, to be a role model of his/her student and should possess some of the qualities SOME QUALITIES
Patience. Best teachers can help student students through a mental breakdown. it was not their job, but that they were so patient, they could have gone the distance. Many time students would just not be “getting†a particular concept. Best teachers will keep explaining, knowing that eventually it would make sense this is only true for teachers with patience. Teachers should wait until a distraction calmed students down, or abandon a lesson entirely if it was clear material needed to be revisited. The best teachers are stuck with it, willing to do what it took, no matter how long it took.
Understanding. A true understanding of how to teach. Teachers should not have a rigid technique that they insisted on using even if it did not helped students to learn. Teachers should be flexible in their teaching style, adapting daily as an when needed. Teachers should have understanding of human nature and the maturity of teenagers.
Dedication to excellence. Good teachers should try to get the best from their students and themselves. They should not settle for poor grades, knowing it reflects upon their ability to teach just as much upon a students ability to excel. The best teachers encourage the sharing of ideas and offer incentives to get students to think outside with a broader aspect. Teachers should encourage students to be good human for the society, not just good memorizers of text. Scoring Marks in test should not be the prime goal of the teacher for the student. |
